Aiken Homes for Fort Eisenhower Families
Relocation help for military families who want space, or room for horses.
Fort Eisenhower (formerly Fort Gordon) is home to the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence. Per the Army’s visitor page, it sits about eight miles southwest of Augusta and is reached from Interstate 20 via Jimmie Dyess Parkway (Exit 194). From downtown Aiken, Gate 1 is about 28 miles away, so plan on roughly 45 minutes to an hour each way, depending on traffic and gate lines.
Planning a PCS move to Aiken
- Gate 1 (McKenna Gate) off Jimmie Dyess Parkway is for DoD ID card holders; visitors are processed at Gate 6 off Gordon Highway.
- Think about your duty hours and which gate you’ll use when comparing areas.
- Ask Shelby about timing your purchase around your report date.
Shelby relocated across the country herself, with horses, and can help you plan the logistics of your move.
